Pillar 04

Climate Justice & Resilience

Helping communities prepare, adapt, and sustain their livelihoods.

  • Women carrying water buckets across a newly planted field in Leir Baawa
  • Stone check dam built to slow erosion in a gully

What we do

This pillar focuses on climate adaptation and community resilience, with attention to people whose food security and livelihoods depend on their environment. It connects the need to prepare for changing conditions with practical approaches to sustaining everyday life.

SATCD’s agricultural activities offer relevant stories of household and community resilience. Kitchen-garden support provides seeds and other inputs for growing food, while the Leir Baawa intervention equipped women’s groups with farm tools and seedlings.

These projects illustrate the relationship between food production, livelihoods and resilience, while retaining their documented focus on agricultural support and household wellbeing.
