This website is operated by Strategic Approaches Towards Community Development (SATCD), registration number SBU/C/CBO/10574/19, based in Maralal, Samburu County, Kenya. These terms explain the permitted use of the website and the information and opportunities it presents. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.
Using the website
Use the website lawfully and respectfully. Do not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious software, impersonate someone else or submit abusive, misleading or unlawful material. Provide accurate information when making an enquiry or applying to volunteer.
Information about our work
The website describes SATCD’s pillars, activities, projects and opportunities. We aim to keep information accurate, but programmes and opportunities may change. Contact us if information appears incorrect or if you need confirmation before relying on it. General information on health, livelihoods or disaster preparedness is not a substitute for professional advice or emergency assistance.
Photographs, logos and other content
Website text, photographs, designs and logos may belong to SATCD or their respective owners. You may link to our public pages, but copying, republishing or commercially using material may require permission from the rights holder. Contact us before reusing photographs, partner logos or substantial website content, except where use is permitted by law.
Do not reuse community photographs in a misleading, stigmatising or harmful context. Permission for SATCD to publish a photograph does not automatically give another person permission to republish it. A partner logo does not imply endorsement beyond the relationship described.
Donations
Use the current donation instructions on our Donate page and verify the recipient before sending funds. Payments are made through the relevant bank, mobile-money or external payment service; this website does not require your payment PIN. Do not send funds to personal accounts claiming to represent SATCD unless independently verified through our official contact details.
If you would like a gift to support a particular pillar, contact SATCD to agree that intention. A suggested amount does not guarantee a specific outcome unless expressly stated and agreed. For an incorrect or duplicate payment, contact us promptly with the transaction reference; we will review it with you and, where necessary, the payment provider. These terms do not remove any rights available under applicable law. Do not assume a donation is tax-deductible without relevant confirmation.
Volunteering and partnerships
Submitting an application or enquiry does not guarantee a placement, employment, funding or a partnership. Roles, availability, responsibilities, safeguarding requirements and any expenses will need to be agreed separately. SATCD is developing its formal volunteer management and safeguarding arrangements.
Information you submit
Only submit information you are entitled to share. Sending an enquiry or application does not grant SATCD unrestricted permission to publish it. Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Publication of stories, quotations and images requires an appropriate basis and any necessary permissions.
External links
Links to banks, payment services, social media and other organisations take you to services governed by their own terms. SATCD does not control their availability, content or handling of your information.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the website useful and available, but access may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, SATCD is not responsible for loss caused by matters beyond its reasonable control or misuse of the website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Applicable law and questions
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without overriding rights that apply mandatorily to you. Please contact SATCD first about a concern so we can try to resolve it. We may update these terms for future website use; changes do not retrospectively alter separately agreed commitments.
