WATER HYGIENE AND SANITATION

Promote efforts towards achieving universal access to water and sanitation for all without any discrimination, while prioritizing those most in need Recognizing access to safe drinking water and sanitation as an intentional human right derived from the right to an adequate standard of living under article 11(I) of the international covenant of economic, social and cultural rights.

HEALTH AND NUTRITION

Enhancing the local dietary contexts and identifying reasonable ways of involving the community, in addressing dietary patterns, and their local determinants of health through optimization of production and consumption of their right nutrients Strategic approaches towards community development discourages local factors like power imbalances between health systems and the people we serve; this aims at making health systems more person centered, and equity oriented by prioritizing those with greater need. It also endeavors in delivering of health and nutrition literacy and education programs in an equitable manner that ideally takes into account the individually agency required of each community member for sustainable change.

FOOD SECURITY AND SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS

Promotion of strategic coherence of interventions designed to promoting poverty reduction and food security among the communities through building on the existing systems, use of realistic technologies such as mechanization, precision farming/agriculture drip irrigation and building on knowledge and partnership.

CHILD PROTECTION

Championing against main forms of child abuse that damages the children’s prospects of safe and healthy development into adulthood i.e. physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and child sexual abuse among others.

GOVERNANCE AND ADVOCACY

Empowering communities and individuals to make informed sustainable choices towards more inclusive and resilient societies where the community and the government hold themselves accountable through public participation, inclusion, non-discrimination, equality, rule of law and accountability Promoting or resisting social changes that, if implemented would conflict with the social, cultural, political and economic interests or values of other groups in the society.

CLIMATE ACTION

SATCD believes that the ecosystem is interlinked with biodiversity, livelihoods, and social solidarity for climate action and environmental sustainability. Through this understanding, the organization takes a leading role in ecosystem protection by examining how humans interact with it for their livelihoods and identifying ways to build resilience. This is achieved through nature-based solutions for ecosystem restoration, inclusive livelihoods that are in harmony with the ecosystem, and strengthening social cohesion regarding limited natural resources, thus making efforts to mitigate climate change and its impacts.
